We are pleased to offer this modern, accurate and fully functional oil-damped marine compass in a solid hardwood box.  The boxed compass is gimbaled so that even if placed in a boat that severely heels, the compass will remain level.  These high quality compasses are certified accurate and have solid brass machined housing and gimbal set.  The brass is lacquered to prevent it from tarnishing.  A wrench for adjusting the gimbal screws is included with both compasses.
This large compass is 5 1/4 inches (133 mm) in diameter, the compass card is 4 inches (100 mm) in diameter, and the case measures 7 7/8 inches (20.0 cm) square and 5 1/2 inches (14.0 cm) tall.  It weighs 6 pounds, 4 ounces (2.8 kg).
Custom brass plaques are available for the outside of the case or the inside lid.

This is a smaller version of the modern, accurate and fully functional liquid-damped sailboat compass.  This boxed compass is also gimbaled so that the compass remains level even if placed in a boat that severely heels.  The brass on the compass is lacquered so it will not tarnish.  The small compass is 4 inches (10.2 cm) in diameter, the compass card is 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm) in diameter, and the case measures 6 1/4 inches (15.9 cm) square and 4 3/16 inches (10.7 cm) tall. This item weighs 3 pounds, 12 ounces (1.7 kg).  Custom brass plaques are available for the outside of the case or the inside lid.  The Small Modern Fully Functional Gimbaled Boxed Compass sells for only $179.
