This Stanley London® solid brass reproduction of a Chart Compass is highly specialized
to orienting a nautical chart or map to magnetic North.
It also functions to assist in drawing accurate true North-South lines, or lines within 5 degrees of North on
a chart.
This unique compass is accurate to better than 1/2 degree.
The compact compass measures 6 3/4 inches (17.1 cm) long, 1 15/16 inches (3 cm) wide, 9/16 inches (1.4 cm) tall,
and weighs 10.8 ounces (306 grams).
The long compass needle points to symmetrical scales on both ends of the compass.
The scales are graduated for +/- 5 degrees of North.
The chart compass features a needle lift mechanism on the side of the compass to protect the compass bearing
when being transported.
This compass is crafted from solid brass, and polished to a beautiful shine.
Your personalized inscription can be engraved on the bottom of this compass.
