This is a beautifully detailed reproduction of George Stillson's famous U.S. Navy Mark V Helmet,
designed in 1915.
Instead of the screw-in face plate, the Mark V was unique for its time and featured a hinged face plate.
The Mark V Diving Helmet became part of the standard U.S. Navy Diving equipment and was used for most salvage
work during World War II.
Stillson's MK V Diving Helmet was such an advanced design that the U.S. Navy Diving used it with very few
modifications until succeeded by the MK12 in 1980.
This model faithfully reproduced all the details such as the breastplate, hinged face plate,
side view ports, spit cock, exhaust control handle, regulating escape valve, air intake elbow and exhaust piping.
There are two sizes of the U.S. Navy Mark V Diver's Helmet available, and each one is skillfully
crafted from brass and copper, then polished to a high luster.
The smaller Diver's Helmet scaled reproduction is 10 1/2 inches (26.7 cm) tall, 10 inches (25.4 cm)
wide, and is heavy, weighing 7.4 pounds (3.4 kg).
The large full-size Mark V Diver's Helmet reproduction has a serial number plaque mounted on
the front and measures 17 inches (43.2cm) tall, 14 1/4 inches (36.2 cm) wide, 16 1/2 inches
(41.9 cm) deep, and is very heavy, weighing 22 pounds (10kg).
The smaller Brass and Copper Diver's Helmet is available for $220 and the Full Size 17-inch Brass and
Copper Diver's Helmet is offered at $630.
We also carry inexpensive Brass and Copper Diver's Helmet Key Chains.
