The Cutty Sark was the last of the great Tea Clippers.
On the afternoon of Monday, 22nd November, 1869, the 963 ton clipper ship was launched from Scott and Linton's
shipyard at Dumbarton, on the Clyde.
She bore the name Cutty Sark that was to become famous throughout the world and was destined to win a place
in the hearts of British seamen.
The Cutty Sark is now beside the dock at Greenwich England.
The back of Cutty Sark model has a powerful magnet so the model can be used as a refrigerator

This is a beautiful handmade miniature wooden model of the famous Mayflower.

The Mayflower brought the first group of Pilgrims to North America in 1620.
The 180 ton Mayflower carried 102 passengers from Plymouth, England.
The ship was headed for Virginia, where the colonists had been authorized to settle.
As a result of stormy weather and navigational errors, the vessel failed to make good its course,
and on November 21 the Mayflower rounded the end of Cape Cod and dropped anchor off the site of
present-day Provincetown, Massachusetts.
The Mayflower remained anchored for the next few weeks while a party from the ship explored
Cape Cod in search of a satisfactory site for the colony.
On December 21, an area having been selected, the Pilgrims disembarked from the Mayflower near
the head of Cape Cod and founded Plymouth Colony the first permanent settlement in New England.

This is a beautiful handmade miniature wooden model ornament of the famous three-masted barque
"The Belem."
A barque is a vessel with at least three masts, all of them fully square rigged except for the sternmost one,
which is fore-and-aft rigged.
The hand carved wooden model is highly detailed with starched cloth sails, masts, and rigging.
This elegant three masted barque was built by the Dubigeon Yard in Nantes, western France and launched in 1896.
The Belem worked the sugar trade route to the Caribbean and the cocoa trade route to South America.
In 1914 she was purchased by the Duke of Westminister and converted into a luxurious yacht powered by an
auxiliary engine.
In 1922 she was bought by A.E. Guinness and renamed the Phantom II and goes around the world,
passing through the Panama and Suez canals, to the Arctic, France, and Montreal.
In 1951, the Belem is saved from dismantling by the Italians, and becomes the "Giorgio Cini"
training ship in Venice.
She sails in the Adriatic before falling into oblivion on the island of San Giorgio.
In 1972 The Belem was presented to the Carabinieri who started a conversion her back to her original barque rig.
The refit proved too expensive and ownership passed to the shipyard.
In 1972 she was returned to French ownership and renamed Belem.
In 1980 she arrived in Brest and was moored in Paris.
The Belem model ornament is detailed but still lightweight to be used as a holiday ornament for adorning a
Christmas Tree.
