This Stanley London® premium 3-inch (7.5 cm) radius sextant is a reproduction of a small lifeboat sextant
used for navigation in emergencies.
This is our finest miniature brass sextant and in spite of it's small size, it is meticulously crafted and fairly
accurate.
We offer this sextant in either a beautiful polished brass finish, or an antique patina.
Both models of the sextant have a gear-driven adjustment of the elevation angle.
To assist in reading the vernier scale, a built-in powerful magnifier can be swung into position.
The telescope can be extended to focus and produces a bright and sharp magnified image.
There are four dark swing-arm filters, and "Stanley London 1880" is engraved on the back of the sextant's limb.
The sextant measures 4 3/16 inches (10.6 cm) tall, 3 7/8 inches (9.8 cm) wide, 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm) deep, and weighs
11.8 ounces (335 grams), which is 44% heavier than our other 3-inch sextant.
Note that while this sextant is fully functional, it is not calibrated nor intended for navigation.
Either version is accompanied by a heavy 100% leather case embossed "Stanley London" and a rear belt loop.
The 3-inch premium quality brass sextant in either polished or antique finish with leather case sells for only $109.
We also offer a larger version of this sextant as well as a
similar sextant mounted on a hardwood plaque.
